First P-W try:
Keith McLean. NOVA was awarded a penalty, but a Prince Hill pass was picked off by Brian Driscoll. As he was being tackled, Brian offloaded to Jack Foley, who took it down the right sideline before passing to Keith McLean, who bowled over a NOVA defender in-goal to center the try.
7-0.
Second P-W try:
On a skip pass (fly half to wing) + double loop, Philadelphia-Whitemarsh caught the NOVA fly half and center flying up with the wing back. Mark Frey stepped in, committed both Dixie Dean and Prince Hill, and fed Vaughn Crowe for the easy 50-m try. Converted by Crowe.
14-0.
First NOVA try:
From a NOVA penalty kick (one of many), P-W committed three people to tackle Nick Bell. NOVA won the ruck, and Dixie Dean sidestepped Brian Driscoll for the try. 14-7.
Third P-W try:
From the ensuing kickoff, Keith McLean went up and caught the kickoff, and as he came down caught Nick Bell with an elbow that got him free. He ran down the right touchline and fed Jack Foley. Foley dummied left and stepped right for the score.
19-7.
HALFTIME
The Miracle Try:
From the opening kickoff, NOVA maintained possession. Jeff Millar dropped Dixie Dean's pass, and then kicked the bouncing ball all the way across the field, where Prince Hill fielded it and scored.
19-12.
Next try:
Again, P-W came back immediately. They won the ball at the kickoff, and following a tackle, and a pin and loop, got the ball to wing Marc Frey. Frey stretched the field, pulled out, and gave the ball to Brian Driscoll. Driscoll stretched down the left touchline and got the ball back to Frey for the last 50 meters.
26-12.
Last score.
With Keith McLean out of the game, P-W became a bit unstuck at first phase play. NOVA lifted prop Jamie Wiles, who dummied a pass from the air, then came down and ran the 20 meters untouched.
26-19. Final score.
