SuperBowl Raffle - We have a Winner!

 Stacey Foley sold the winning ticket!
Stacy Foley had the honor, the pleasure … the fun ... of walking into her office this morning and whispering into the ear of Joanne O'Rourke, ‘You won!’ Initially unsure of what Stacy was referring to, O’Rourke wasn’t sure how to respond. For the woman surrounded by a sea of E-A-G-L-E-S green in her cubicle, it finally sunk in. Joanne, Stacey’s co-worker at Merck, had just discovered that She won two tickets to the SuperBowl next weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. Along with the tickets, Joanne will receive round-trip airfare for two and a four night and five-day accommodation.
Joanne began running around the office screaming, ‘I’ve won, I’ve won … feel my heart - it’s going to come out of my chest!’ After making a scene, Stacy whispered again, ‘Joanne, maybe you should calm down a little.’ Joanne just said ‘NO!’
In a phone interview this morning, Joanne answered the key questions that we all want to know.
TheRugbyClub: How do you feel after winning?
O’Rourke: I’m still numb.
TheRugbyClub: Are you a big Eagles fan?
O’Rourke: Definitely.
TheRugbyClub: How many chances did you buy?
O’Rourke: Three.
TheRugbyClub: Have you gotten to any games this year?
O’Rourke: No. I used to be a season ticket holder, but not in the last few years. I watch every game. I’m a single mom. I have a five-year-old son. My son is my priority.
TheRugbyClub: Will you take your son to the game?
O’Rourke: No. If I don’t choose the cash buy-out, I told my co-worker Janine I would take her. She is a huge Eagle fan. Bigger than me. And actually, my son is a Dallas fan.
TheRugbyClub: Which will you choose the Game or the cash?
O’Rourke: I don’t know yet. I could get new hardwood floors in house … (reminded of the Harley commercial – Harley – dinette set - Harley – dinette set) It’s seems like a No Brainer. I can get new floors any time, but a chance to go to the SuperBowl!
TheRugbyClub: Back to the Dallas Fan. In Philadelphia, raising a Dallas fan is considered bad parenting. How do you respond?
O’Rourke: He likes the star. I’ve had him in a #20 Eagles jersey (Brian Dawkins) all week. I’m working on him.
TheRugbyClub: Who’s your favorite Eagles player?
O’Rourke: McNabb, of course!
TheRugbyClub: Who’s your star of the game for the SuperBowl?
O’Rourke: T.O. if he plays.
TheRugbyClub: Do you think T.O. should play?
O’Rourke: No, I don’t think he should. It could jeopardize the Eagles chances of going back to the SuperBowl next year.
TheRugbyClub: What’s your final score for the game?
O’Rourke: Eagles 17 – Patriots 14.
There you have it. This year’s raffle winner is a huge Eagle fan. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
Each year TheRugbyClub offers a cash buy-out to give winners the option to just ‘Take the Cash.’ Recipients usually opt for the money. With the Eagles going to the ‘Big Game’ this year, we’ll see what Joanne chooses. We hope to have a picture of our winner soon.
