The spring of 1993 saw the introduction of the Middle Atlantic League with teams in addition to our club, Manhattan, Mystic River, PAC, Boston, Old Blue, Bethlehem and Washington. Also the new Club and Individual Participation Program, CIPP, charging individuals $11/year to cover the expense of the National Office. In summer sevens Biddie Boyle and JoJo Gunn were working hard coordinating activities. John Flamish earned his cap for the United States playing in Portugal. 1993 AGM and elections. Buddy Frick was elected President, Marcus Maffei Captain, Barry McCarthy Treasurer and Rob Grassi secretary. Tim Orenbuch and Steve Hynes were club house managers and did great work revitalizing the clubhouse. But the Fall season got off to an ugly start when Manhattan trounced the club. We went on to lose to the Maryland Exiles 23-15. We did manage to beat Reading the next week 68-0. Blackthorn we won 38-8; Bethlehem we won 35-13; Wilmington we won 48-12 South Jersey we won 21-20. In the playoffs we lost to PAC 16-19 who went on to beat Washington the next day in the Middle Atlantic Championship. We were East Penn Champions and in divisional play scored 220 for 53 against. SianoX4 + DiFrancescoX3 + CoadyX3 + CarrollX2 + McGinnisX2 = Reunion. Several families who made up the entire Whitemarsh team were invited by President Bud Frick for drinks, backslapping and lying about how great everyone looked.
