PHILADELPHIA Spurred by the bitter taste of defeat in the first-side match, P-W's seconds - many of them having placed the entire first match - easily outplayed Schuylkill River in a 34-12 rout.

P-W went up 17-0 early on two tries from Kris Johnson, playing wing, and one from John Grace, playing prop. Mike Rosenberg converted the second try.

Schuylkill River managed one converted try before the half, leaving them down 17-7 going into the second period.

Brothers Joey, Bobby and Justin Cassidy proved a powerful trio, with Joey scoring the first try of the second half after a punishing run and offload from Grace, who leveled Schuylkill's scrumhalf at the gain line before rambling 20 meters and feeding Cassidy. Rosenburg's convertion put the home side up 24-7.

Next to add to the score was young flyhalf Derek Tully, a soon-to-be recent graduate of Salisbury State. Tully nailed a drop goal following a lineout won by Rosenburg.

Hooker Justin Cassidy next ripped off a big run for a try following a stolen lineout ball and Tully's convertion put P-W up 34-7.

A long try by Schuylkill's winger near the end of the match put the final score at 34-12.

P-W, meanwhile, played the entire game with 13 men, and a portion with only 11 after Anasa Koroitamana pulled a hamstring and Tully aggravated an injury. Tully would later return to the match.

Strong performances were notched by P-W newcomer Brian Gold who made several big hits from his center position, team manager John Moore, who had the best match of his young career and big Tom O'Malley, who was a presence both on offense and defense.
