PW Rolls over Baltimore

Location: Memorial Hall Field, Philadelphia.
Date: Sat. Oct. 2, 1999
Result: Philadelphia-Whitemarsh 64 (10T, 7C), Baltimore-Chesapeake 24 (4T,2C)

Led by three tries from both Center Jeff Preston and Flanker Scott Palena, host PW rolled over visiting BC at Memorial Hall on a picture perfect day. Except for the middle 20 minutes of the first half (when BC scored 3 of their tries), PW dominated play and rolled to the victory. The big difference in the game was the marauding PW back row of Palena, Matt Winters and Andy Newcombe and the speed of the PW backs led by Preston, National 7s MVP Marc Frey (2 tries) and Fullback Jim Wallier. The PW tight 5 also did an outstanding job in the sets, especially given the number of younger players at those postions.
