Philly-Whitemarsh qualifies for the USA Rugby Sweet 16

Philadelphia-Whitemarsh 27 - Washington 21
Date: October 24, 1998

Host Philly-Whitemarsh qualified for the USA Rugby Sweet 16 by defeating
Washington 27-21 in a MARFU semifinal match. Played under ideal conditions
(sunny, 70 degrees), PWRFC controlled the pace of play and advances to the
MARFU final against PAC, the winner of the PAC-NOVA semifinal. Led by 17 points
from #10 Vaughn Crowe and a stout defense, PW led most of the way. However,
two converted Washington tries in the last 10 minutes narrowed the gap to
24-21, but a Crowe penalty at full time provided the final margin.
